Auxiliary Classrooms and Navigation

Social distancing requirements have significantly reduced the capacity of traditional classrooms, and several alternative locations not generally utilized for classes are being used this spring. Auxiliary classrooms with special navigation instructions are listed below with links to specific access maps provided by OSU's Geospatial department. To find other buildings, please use the interactive campus map.

Technology for GU and Auxiliary Classrooms

The Institute for Teaching and Learning Excellence (ITLE) has worked all summer to prepare general university (GU) and the new auxiliary rooms for faculty to livestream and record their classes. All GU and auxiliary classrooms will be equipped to record and livestream instruction (using conferencing software like Teams, Conferences, or Zoom). Every GU classroom and auxiliary space has a standard setup that includes a desktop computer, document camera, and a Huddle Cam (webcam). In large classroom spaces (seating over 50), there will also be a lapel microphone to provide voice amplification. In some smaller classrooms, an OWL interactive recording system has been installed. Because of worldwide demand and shipping delays, some classrooms have temporary webcams installed until the HuddleCams arrive. The WebCams will support class video recording needs. Please DO NOT move the HuddleCams, WebCams or OWLs from their placement on the instructor desks.

Refer to ITLE's GU Classroom Status website for full details on multimedia equipment available in each GU classroom.

At the beginning of each class, faculty will need to engage the videoconferencing program, and set to stream and record.  Video instructions and stepwise directions are provided to help faculty set up their video conferencing accounts to record or stream and activate the classroom technology before class begins.
