Updates to Banner Self-Service for Faculty and Advisors

Advisor menu

Advisors can now navigate directly to advising tools via the new Advisors tab in Self-Service. The advisor menu can also still be accessed via the first link on the Faculty menu. Changes to the advisor menu include:

- New header (Advisor Menu instead of Student Information).
- Links displayed in alphabetical order.
- Removed older Banner 8 pages that duplicate information incorporated elsewhere. For example:
  - Term Selection and ID Selection are incorporated within relevant Banner 9 pages
  - Student schedules available from Advising Student Profile or Registration History (click on CRN to access class details)
  - Academic transcript available from Advising Student Profile
  - Student grades available from Registration History or Advising Student Profile – View Grades
- New Banner 9 pages include:
  - Registration History
  - Student Week at a Glance

Advisor Student Profile

Updates to the Advising Student Profile include:

Additional Links displayed in alphabetical order.
Advisee search by student name now enables searches using chosen/preferred first name.
Chosen/preferred first name display.
The new Academic Transcript contains static headers that allow you to easily jump to different sections of the transcript without scrolling.
Removed older Banner 8 pages that are now incorporated elsewhere. For example, the student schedule is available in the Registered Courses area of the profile (click on CRN for class details).
New Banner 9 pages include:
- Registration History
- Student Week at a Glance

Faculty menu

Changes to the Self-Service Faculty menu include:

- Links displayed in alphabetical order.
- Removed older Banner 8 pages that are now incorporated elsewhere. For example, all of the old items below are now available within the Class List/Roster:
  - Summary Class List
  - Faculty Grade Summary
  - CRN Selection
  - Detail Class List
  - Summary Wait List
  - Detail Wait List
- By default, faculty can view their own classes in the Class List/Roster. Those with a legitimate educational interest in other rosters can request access via the Banner Access Request system to the Banner 9 Class List in Self-Service security group.
- New Banner 9 pages include:
  - Faculty Schedule Details
  - Faculty Week at a Glance
- Registration Overrides will be updated to Banner 9 later this fall.

Personal Information

The Self-Service Personal Information area is completely transformed into a new Banner 9 page that allows an individual to view and edit many aspects of their information from one page. New functionality includes:

- Add or update chosen (or preferred) first name
- Select personal pronouns and/or gender identification

Student Profile

Updates to the Student Profile include:

- Additional Links displayed in alphabetical order.
- Chosen/preferred first name display.
- The new Academic Transcript contains static headers that allow you to easily jump to different sections of the transcript without scrolling.
- Removed older Banner 8 pages that are now incorporated elsewhere. For example, the student schedule is available in the Registered Courses area of the profile (click on CRN for class details).
- New Banner 9 pages include:
  - Apply to Graduate
  - My Schedule Details

Student Records menu

Changes to the Self-Service Student Records menu include:

- Links displayed in alphabetical order.
- New Banner 9 pages include:
  - Academic Transcript
  - Graduation Application
- The new Academic Transcript contains static headers that allow you to easily jump to different sections of the transcript without scrolling.
